I think it's a damn shame Traqmate went out of business - I've used AiM's analysis software and I don't like it anywhere near as much as TraqView. I use a Traqmate + GoPro + RaceRender and I've been happy with the setup. This is usually a hot topic among HPDE drivers and I was hoping to get the scoop on the newest gizmos. If you were setting up a new system right now, what would you do? I have no experience with the AiM software so I cannot speak to that. I understand that it integrates with the data logger but the resolution capabilities seem to be about a decade off. $1000 is kind of brutal for a camera that is only capable of 720p at 30 FPS. The cons start with the price and specifications of the camera. The system is integrated, and requires only one additional cable to connect to the Smartåam. The pros I see is that the data and video is automatically synced, without having to make adjustments to line it up correctly. You do not get the integrated, automatic synchronization like the setup below. I do not have enough experience to know if this is a difficult task or not. RaceRender seems to offer some cool options (custom gauges etc.) The cons of this setup I see is that the data is not automatically synced and you have to sync to separate inputs to get a "correct" video. The Solo 2 can capture the data necessary for me to analyze, produce overlays etc. The pros I see are that this setup is less expensive than the one listed below, and a GoPro can capture 4k at 60 FPS. The question becomes, what is your preferred setup and what do you like or not like about it? I am stuck between two options right now: I watched a lot of y'alls videos and it appears that most of you are using a GoPro and RaceRender to overlay your data. I am just starting the data logging journey and wanted to get some input. I have seen this topic discussed on various forums when performing my research, but I haven't seen a recent (from a technological standpoint) discussion of the preferred setup for track days.
